Do you have a crochet project that you haven’t been able to complete because the pattern was just too confusing? Do you see patterns you want to try making but just don’t have the confidence you’ll be able to decipher what’s written?
In this class, we’ll break down the pattern-reading process into understandable steps, give you tips and tricks for deciphering the abbreviations and instructions, and you will get to make your choice of one of 3 fun beanies, yarn provided! Plus, you’ll learn how to make or get to practice the Double Magic Ring and the tricky Reverse Single Crochet. 😊
Note: This class is great for beginners, but you must be comfortable making all basic crochet stitches.
What to bring: scissors, a 10mm hook, and a phone, tablet, or ipad to access digital patterns. If you have a pattern that is confounding you for some reason, feel free to bring it and we can spend time beating it into submission together 😊
What you’ll get: the yarn needed to make one beanie, digital access to 3 beanie patterns, and the knowledge you need to make more!
The entire “All the Stuff Grandma Never Taught You” crochet series will be taught throughout the year, one class per month. These classes will take you from “beginner” to “expert”:
–Crochet 101 – The Basics. All the Stuff Grandma Never Taught You – Part 1
–How to Read Patterns (make a beanie!) – Part 2
–Not Your Granny’s Granny Square – Part 3
–Perfect Flat Rounds (start the “Spin Me Around” blanket!) – Part 4
–Hearts a’Plenty (make heart earrings, bookmarks, and sachets!) – Part 5
–Make a Ponytail Beanie – Part 6
–Make the 1-hour Boho Beanie – Part 7
–Crocheted Amigurumi – Make Ocho the Octopus – Part 8
Let’s make it a great day to crochet!
