Do you struggle with your crochet rounds “cupping” or “waving”? Do you wonder why some of your crochet rounds turn out perfectly, but you can’t get others to lay flat to save your life?

In this class, we will unlock the mysteries of “crochet math” so that your circles will be flat EVERY time and you will learn the pros, cons, and differences of working in rounds and spirals. You will learn how to make or get to practice your Double Magic Ring while we start Catherine Bligh’s beautiful Spin Me Around blanket together. You’ll also learn how to turn your flat rounds into beanies of all sizes, and will receive digital links to patterns for a set of nesting baskets and the Granny Circle Shoulder Bag so you can continue to put into practice your new knowledge and skills.

You will need to bring a pair of scissors and either 1 skein of #3 DK weight yarn and a 4.5mm hook or 1 skein of #4 worsted weight yarn and a 5.5mm hook. We will start the blanket together, so you only need one skein to start, but if you want to continue the blanket to completion, you might want to purchase all your yarn at the same time, to ensure your dye lots match.

***

The Spin Me Around blanket as shown is made with 1800 yards of #3 DK weight yarn and a 4.5mm hook for a 48” blanket. However, you can make it with any yarn you want – just adjust the hook size for the yarn you will be using. If you prefer to work with #4 worsted weight yarn, you would want to use a 5.5 or 6mm hook and will need approximately 1350 yards for a 48” blanket. In any case, you would use less yarn for a smaller blanket and more for a larger blanket.

In order to take this class, you must consider yourself an advanced beginner or intermediate hooker. Knowing how to read patterns is a plus, but if you pick up on patterns easily, you’ll be fine 😊

***

What to bring:  scissors, your crochet hook for the size yarn you are using, 1 skein of yarn

***

What you’ll get:  three free crochet patterns, and all the knowledge you need to make more and truly “up” your crochet game!
