.Come on out to My New Favorite Thing and create this beautiful decoration to add to any occasion. This design is not only pretty, but it contains many of the basic shapes you need to create quilling. Quilling may look impossibly complicated, but it is surprisingly easy to do. It may seem as if you had knitted the paper into these lacey shapes, but all you really have to do is roll the paper into coils, glue the ends down, and pinch. That lovely lace effect is done by the paper. The shapes you will learn are open coil, closed coil, marquise, teardrop, and dome. This is a very relaxing, creative craft which will make you look at paper in a whole new way. Bring a friend and have a “lovely” craft afternoon!
